Did you ever get back on your bike? I know it’s the winter and many people think they can’t bike during that kind of weather, but I can give you one Canadian commuter cyclist I like and he has many tips on winter biking, whether you get snow or not.
Also, sorry for the late reply. I kind of forgot about this whole site. Still not in the habit of…[Read more]

is that ever since his intentional scamming of cities for his mythical Hyperloop (which was meant to steer cities away from investing in non-car infrastructure), I have a hard time trusting him to keep his word on anything. That was especially true as I was watching Dore last night, and the announcement kept getting moved back and changed. Just…[Read more]

with the idea that it’s a tax (often said to be a tax on stupid people). Because I’ve gotten lottery tickets before. Am I stupid, too? I could spend $2 on a bottle of Dr Pepper, but the carb-load is insane. I’d rather get a little bit of fun from a ticket or a scratch off (which have been better at winning for me) for the same cost. At least I’m…[Read more]

Whereas we’re the joke of the nation for our politicians, and the people who continue to keep them in power. Conservatives like to say that they’re “tough on crime” yet kept Ken Paxton in office, despite all of the crime he’s committed, and while in office at that. Crazy-man Dan Patrick is still in place, but he’s such a strong born-again crazy…[Read more]

Or an exercise machine? I know those can be Internet capable to let you see views someone else recorded. I have considered getting a rowing machine for when it’s bad weather outside, but here, that’s generally just rain. I’d still ride my bike if I had any decent raingear 🙂
As for the hills, these days that’s what a “pedal-assist” ebike is for.…[Read more]

but that was back in the early 1990s. So much has changed for biking infrastructure now, in comparison. Basically, it’s gotten even better, as depicted in the video above. The YT channel Not Just Bikes also shows how much better it is and also points out how we could improve things over here (he used to live in “Fake London” Ontario). Here’s one…[Read more]

Another nice YouTube channel for the enjoyment of biking through the Netherlands. Not as lengthy in time as the Norwegian rail videos, but still so cool to see people actually traveling long distances on infrastructure made just for bikes, not cars. It also shows things like upgrades, new facilities, and better interaction with cars and people…[Read more]

Nice YouTbue channel from the train driver of various passenger rail lines in Norway. It’s a great way to just enjoy the scenery from the front of the train or as a calming and even mesmerizing trip (especially when they go through some of those extra-long rail tunnels).
Here’s the channel, and then one of the videos to watch. There are also a…[Read more]

Hey y’all!
Haven’t posted here before, but wanted to bring some life back to this group since the crash of the site.
About five months ago I got back on my bicycle, a Giant brand and Cypress model hybrid bike. I had to get it refurbished a month earlier and then equip it with various safety features (lights, a bell, a phone and wallet carrier)…[Read more]

But if you get tired of the perpetually outraged, use it for things other than politics. I only casually read some of that and try to avoid bothering with the comments. Best is to set the twitter page of the people you follow to “Tweets & Replies” so that you see their side and don’t have to sift through all the junk.
This is a favorite acct. I…[Read more]

“There’s someone I hate on Twitter! I’m deleting my account!”
“There’s someone I hate on the Internet! I’m leaving the Internet!”
and similar.Well, I use Twitter mostly for people who write or make videos about urban design and bicycling. Since I’ve been back on my bike in the last five months, that’s really more important than the politics. I…[Read more]

until I read the other big thread in Latest News. I vaguely remember him talking about having a Substack, but didn’t know it had turned into an alternate site.
I thought I had a bookmark of the FB site, but I must have found it in a search and then didn’t save it. Plus, it was very out of date, and no recent activity.
Since JPR went offline, I…[Read more]

Here’s what mrdmk emailed to me back in July, also with a link to the test-site:
“This is MRDMK, member of JPR
Hello, hoping everyone doing well
Just checking in with a select few, because this site is supposed to remain a secret
Hope to hear from you
Sincerely,

and their message on the test-site. It does at least give an…[Read more] -

the last time I bought tequila, I accidentally got mezcal, but it was a happy accident. I love that stuff! So, maybe what I had in my G&T instead was Ginzcal 😉
