I have to agree with @GZeusH about this, although the question is
who controls mostly our media. Is it the MIC or is it DoS/CIA?

Ruins of the pillars of an ancient Zeus temple are found in Egypt, and guess what they are made of pink granite.
Zeus — the ancient Greek god of thunder and sky, was once worshipped by millions of people in ancient Greece. Even the ancient Olympic games that started in 776 BC and led to the birth of the modern Olympics used to be held in the h…[Read more]

It was about 2009 when I was in Sacramento. The show was at Cashe Creek Casino. The dude was kind enough to shake hands with people and do autographs on my tank top of all places. And its still on it after a washing. Didn’t expect him to smooze with people, but he announced it before closing with “She’s a Beauty”. Amazing.

It’s not pro-Russian Ukrainians; it’s Russian-speaking neutral Ukrainians. You can get in serious trouble if you’re not considered vehemently pro-Ukrainian right now.
I saw it in December; even in our own flat, I couldn’t mention that my wife has a son in Moscow because of neighbors. She even received threatening messages from a former…[Read more]

@gzeush Yes they have. My observation is that Chinese or Russian operations in western Pacific theater tend to occur when the fleet is preoccupied elsewhere, say in the South China Sea or Taiwan. I call it the “go where they ain’t tactic.” This demonstrates the limitations of trying to cover such a vast area. Initially, it was proposed that…[Read more]

The most profits are realized from cheap processed chemical-laden starchy sugary foods, which are more affordable. And everyone who cavalierly tells poor people that they need to feed their families better stuff, IMO and all that, needs a quick little kick in the nether regions. Look at what is advertised, too – sugary cereal, fast foods, c…[Read more]

Jim Lane replied to the topic How a new ‘gold ruble’ could shake the world financial system in the forum Multimedia 1 month ago
It becomes “early stages” if it presages a commitment by the Bank of Russia to sell unlimited amounts of gold to all comers at a fixed price of 5,000 rubles per gram. That would set a floor on the price of the ruble, but only after the BoR had sold off a very large quantity of its gold.
If the BoR runs out of gold, or if it can’t take…[Read more]

You write:
@jimlane, the “floor” of 5,000 rubles per gram would become relevant if others were selling gold for less than 5,000 rubles – that’s why it’s a floor.
Yes, it’s a floor on the price of gold, expressed in rubles. But that does nothing to shield the ruble from devaluation.
You go on to write:
It seems to me that such a floor would…

There’s still no answer to what @snot and I said in the other thread (link): The Bank of Russia is offering to exchange rubles for gold, but the ruble doesn’t become a gold-backed currency unless the BoR offers to sell gold for rubles, which it hasn’t done.
The video tries to obfuscate this crucial difference by confusing wording – tha…[Read more]

You write:
I said floor, because if people trying to manipulate the market try to push it lower, they can’t push it under 1/5000 of a gram of gold, not with this current offering price.
Sure they could (assuming that by “it” you mean the value of the ruble, expressed in gold). Suppose, without this Bank of Russia offer, the market (be i…[Read more]

I think @snot had it right: To back the ruble with gold, the Russians would have to offer to exchange gold for rubles, not the other way around.
The math in your example is correct except for what I assume is a typo. You write, “Multiplying it out, we can see that your ounce of gold will buy 5169 rubles today, so only getting 5000 is n…[Read more]
