jerry611 replied to the topic Legal scholar: There will never be enough consequences for what Trump has done to the country in the forum General Discussion 1 week ago
So America wasn’t a racist country with wealth inequality before Donald Trump?
Literally 99% of the things this author is complaining about was here before 2016.
I guess it took Donald Trump for people like the author to actually pay attention to the problems. If that’s the case, we could use a few more Trumps. Maybe then people will get their…[Read more]

Sure about that? Or is that sarcasm? Can’t tell.
What do you think would happen if we flipped a switch and shut down all computers around the world tomorrow? We would lose our ability to communicate, at least initially. All our phone systems today would shut down. Most of our communication systems today operate digitally. Would have to switch…[Read more]

jerry611 replied to the topic Artificial Intelligence: it will kill us in the forum General Discussion 1 week ago
That could very well be our future. We may also integrate or become part of A.I. or at the very least have it as a integral part of our existence. We already as a society have incorporated machines and computers into our lives. They are vitally important to our society, our way of life, and our civilization.
And A.I. will certainly be a key…[Read more]

This clown and his PNAC buddies have advocated for empire-building for decades. This is just another way he sees of doing it.
I guess after Cuba it will Mexico? And then Canada…. We’ll get the whole continent before the century is out.

But China isn’t an ally. And their government is committing atrocities against the Uyghurs. The BBC just put out a report from survivors that accusing the Chinese government of concentration camps, rape, torture, etc.
China is going to continue to be a rival power for the foreseeable future. I don’t see any way of avoiding that.

TERFs are considered a “hate group” on most social media platforms. Last year, Reddit banned a whole bunch of subreddits that were advocating TERF ideology.
Rowling got in trouble because she was repeating a lot of TERF stuff on Twitter.

“…extremist conspiracy theories aimed at fomenting a general distrust of government”
Is that a crime? Could someone point to the law that says creating a conspiracy theory is illegal? And are white supremacists the only ones doing it?
This is the type of thing I have a problem with. And there seems to be a concerted effort to link gove…[Read more]

jerry611 replied to the topic The double standard for cops lies at the heart of Chauvin trial in the forum General Discussion 1 month ago
No that will go nowhere in a criminal trial. As far as this court is concerned, all that matters is this single act and whether Chauvin’s actions were within the bounds of the laws and guidelines passed by the legislature. A criminal trial will not pay attention to anything else in the broader debate.
Criminal trials are heavily controlled and…[Read more]

In New York, that’s nothing new. For instance, De Blasio and Cuomo hate each other probably more than they hate most Republicans.

I’d say it is a very high probability that he’s going to run again in 2024. And he’ll easily win that nomination.
Unfortunately it’s also looking more and more likely the Democrats will run with Kamala. Joe won’t run again in 2024.
So we’re royally fucked no matter what!

DeSantis already has an executive order that forbids local governments from enforcing mask mandates.
So the investigation is going nowhere. The county can’t enforce it.

Yes. We are told constantly that if you don’t vote for the two major parties you are “throwing your vote away” or “you only help one of the major parties.” So it’s basically saying if you don’t support the major parties, you may as well not vote. That’s our collective mentality.
I remember a lot of young people back in 2000 voted for Nader. And…[Read more]

This bill doesn’t do anything to change the two-party establishment monopoly…. which is what people who don’t normally vote is most angry about. They feel their vote is meaningless since both parties suck.
People who aren’t voting…it’s not because of registration. It’s because they are pissed off at the whole thing or they simply have no…[Read more]

There is another bill they want to pass that will make it harder to mandate vaccines.
