Your choice in this election is to “return America to normal” or “keep America great.”
Awesome choice, right?
Trump’s biggest mistake was appointing all these Bush-era neocon war mongers to lead his foreign policy. Trump is a guy who said in the GOP primary in 2016 that the Iraq war was a mistake. That used to be a sin to say in the GOP. Then he criticizes NATO and refuses to go to war in Iran or Syria. Of course they were all going to fight and bang…[Read more]
Wouldn’t this be foreign interference in our elections?
I mean can you imagine the outcry and rage if Putin were to say he support’s Trump’s re-election?
It’s really not necessarily a massive step legally speaking. They basically reiterated that employers can’t discriminate on the basis of sex, consistent with other Title VII rulings including Price Waterhouse v Hopkins. The only difference in this situation is the plaintiffs were LGBT. So they took previous rulings and were able to expand on the…[Read more]
Yep. America is a racist country and it’s all Russia’s fault. Chauvin must be a Russian spy strategically placed in the Minneapolis police department to kill a black man and cause riots and political chaos in America.
Man those people in the Kremlin are good!
The US Supreme court ruled that gay and transgender employees are covered under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Gorsuch and Roberts joined the court’s four liberal justices in the 6-3 decision. Technically, the court’s opinion only applies to LGBT in the workplace. However, the decision leaves the door open for other areas.
The case was…[Read more]

At this point it doesn’t matter. People have to go back to work in order to put food on the table. State unemployment systems have crashed.
Not to mention it’s going to be impossible to tell people they have to close up and stay in their house while there are protesters in the streets.
Like I’ve said, we’ve given up on COVID-19.

Suspicious. Usually suicide that is intended to succeed (and not a cry for help) is done in private so that no one stops it. But the mayor has said Fuller’s body has scars from previous suicide attempts. (family disputes that)
This happened twice though within 50 miles and 10 days of each other too.
Families need to have independent autopsies performed.

A new poll shows that only 8% of Americans under age 30 have a great deal of trust in the police.
However, 81% of Baby Boomers say the protests are “not justified.”
Going further… when asked what is the bigger problem facing America right now: racism or vandalism. 68% of the youth says racism is the problem. 56% of older folks say it’s…[Read more]
Yeah the mistake was after the revolution, the Bolsheviks for the most part continued to maintain an upper class system which really undermined everything since it runs completely counter to traditional communist ideology. The elite class that formed, or what was called the “Nomenklatura,” became a elitist bureaucracy that was largely filled with…[Read more]
Starting in the 1920s and especially after the war in the 1950s there was a very strong fear of communists. The red scares and McCarthyism focused heavily on the threat of communism. Fascism wasn’t something that was really on the radar once Hitler and Mussolini were defeated. What the west was more afraid of at that point was that you’d have more…[Read more]

Oh but you can’t do that….then you won’t be able to contain the Russians!
Well mental illness is another issue entirely. We are REALLY bad with that this country. Towards the end of the Reagan era, we started closing all our mental health hospitals and facilities. The Democrats thought it was better and more humane for mentally ill people to be among society and not in hospitals. Meanwhile the Republicans liked ending…[Read more]
Can’t happen nationally since majority of law enforcement is funded on the state and local level.
The federal government can put in certain regulations and slow down the militarization of the police. But Congress can’t “defund” or abolish it because they aren’t the ones paying for the NYPD or the LAPD or whatever tiny town in Alabama.

I don’t think you can sue for the pension. Pensions are protected under a federal law.
You can get the ruling but collecting is a whole different fight. There is ways a person becomes “judgement proof.” Ron Goldman hasn’t seen a dime from the NFL pension after the civil judgement against OJ.
In some states, it’s also extremely difficult to seize…[Read more]

The sports question is more complex and difficult to answer. I dont know of a solution that would make everyone happy. Testosterone is one factor. But there are other factors as well. Such that men tend to have larger hearts, more lung capacity, higher bone density, etc.. On the other side of the debate though is the reality that women sports used…[Read more]

Until the DNC changes, the Democratic party does not.
Oh yes I am sure they will push for some superficial changes (renaming army bases or pulling down a couple statues), but beyond that…..good luck getting any changes.
We don’t know if it is permanent. Like I said, it’s very fluid. And I agree, it’s a bit surreal.
But just like during the first 2-3 weeks of the coronavirus. People started taking it very seriously. There was unity. But then around mid-April it started fall apart and divide on partisan lines. And by May, everyone is at each other’s throats.
