@mick063 I wish for non of this, but I see we have reached that point. The police are no longer doing their job. It’s a couple of years of exacerbation from top down that brung us here.

That seems a realistic scenario, but if its realistic I’d guess bernie & co have thought of it & would have a plan to counter in his first term; specifically by mobilizing his base in a way that obama never mobilized his

@mick063 You define it well, thanks. If there is not a candidate that has the consistency and integrity of Bernard Sanders then I will leave it blank. That’s what Bernie or Bust means. I vote for policy not the blue no matter who. Period.

Ohio Barbarian replied to the topic CNN has decided not to release their final Iowa poll in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
@mick063 I hadn’t thought of that. I’d just assumed that CNN didn’t like the results so wanted an excuse not to run the story. I can see the Des Moines Register not wanting to associate itself with some shenanigan CNN or somebody pulled on the results of their poll, too.
Either way, somebody’s being sleazy somewhere.

Plan B is to rally behind AOC’s anti incumbent PAC and lend it the same enthusiastic support we gave to Bernie.
We go down swinging.

It seems to be serving its purpose well enough, of convincing each “side” that the other is clearly the problem.
Divide and conquer requires constant routine maintenance.

David the Gnome replied to the topic The Boiling Point for the Poor in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
I am really hoping that that does not happen. I believe Bernie will make every effort to expand social security and disability – and I believe we need Medicare for all. I think he will be able to change things some. It could be the start of something positive for us all.
Or it could be postponing the inevitable when we get another Tr…[Read more]

That is 100% correct. Either the Democratic Party is saved and transformed by progressives, or it will be either go the way of the Whigs or become a small corporatist party getting maybe 5% of the vote, tops.

Hi mick,
A thoughtful reply to an insightful vignette chronicling our social and political affairs.
And as you note, the only winners when the finger pointing goes extreme are those that rule from above.
Our collective distraction only increases their power.
Such is the sad state of affairs we find ourselves in today.

Jan Boehmerman replied to the topic Tulsi Gabbard has zero possibility of getting the Democratic party nomination for POTUS. in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
Come on! Tulsi is not trying to undermine Bernie. She’s addressing subjects that Bernie dare not touch. She’s drawing FLAK away from him.
If Bernie get’s the nomination, it’ll be thanks to folks like Tulsi and Mike Gravel and others.
As @mick063 and @ohiobarbarian stated above….. Tulsi single-handedly destroyed Kamala Harris!

Ohio Barbarian replied to the topic Tulsi Gabbard has zero possibility of getting the Democratic party nomination for POTUS. in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
@mick063 I think Tulsi did us all a favor when she single-handedly destroyed Kamala Harris, because I think Kamala was the Chosen One of the Obamabots, the perfect identity politics candidate. An attractive, articulate black woman whose career demonstrated she posed no threat to the status quo. A candidate with a built-in ID politics defense that…[Read more]
