Ohio Barbarian replied to the topic The US Supreme Court just sided with Republicans in the first coronavirus-related election case in the forum General Discussion 9 hours ago
The Governor of Wisconsin delayed the primary by executive order on his own authority, using emergency powers at the state level. The federal court decision the Supremes reversed is no longer relevant. It was made on the federal court’s authority before the governor had done anything.
So the Supremes were just rendered moot.

State of emergency and all that. And that issue was not before the court, so the decision doesn’t apply. The election is delayed.

Well said, Mike. That is the simple truth. The Democratic Party is an enemy of the left, not an ally. He also pointed out their hypocrisy on their moralistic social justice warrior issues–#MeToo does not apply to their chosen candidate. So much for the party of women’s rights.

BlackRock, Blackstone, Harris, Warren, all of them. Vile. The Democrats are corrupt and proud of it. They don’t even try to hide it anymore. Their corporate media donors act like all the transparent corruption is perfectly normal, and call anyone who disagrees crazy.
Stalin would be proud.

They are already ignoring his orders. They’ll probably remove him and put someone who is in touch with reality in charge, and promise elections after the pandemic has passed.

Probably based it on the advice of the state’s chief health officer, just like Dewine did in Ohio to quell any court challenges.
Holding an election tomorrow would be a deadly farce. The fact that both the state Republican and national Democratic parties were determined that in-person voting should go ahead, heedless of the fact that some people…[Read more]

@soryang For all we know, Crozier could have objected to docking in Danang because the coronavirus was epidemic in Vietnam at the time. If he did, he was ordered to dock and allow liberty anyway, in one of those “show the flag” ports of call, which can be great fun for ordinary sailors.
And also guaranteed to get infected with C-19, which any…[Read more]
@fasttense Yes, that’s certainly possible, as local and state authorities are confronted with a federal government so corrupt it cannot even functionally respond to a pandemic, and are forced to take the lead themselves.
