Jim Lane replied to the topic Biden's approval at 40%, near lowest of his presidency – Reuters/Ipsos poll in the forum Latest Breaking News 6 days ago
I didn’t say that we should always trust experts. Instead, I made two specific points:
First, your assertion about the leanings of older voters is contradicted by the first source I found in a quick search. As I also mentioned, the pro-Republican lean of older voters is a long-established phenomenon. I could find many more s…[Read more]

It is early.
We are in January 2023. So, Election Day, next year, will not come until Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
I will give you my sense of this (right now): Election 2024, with regard for the presidency of the United States, will more than likely end up a Democratic hold. Joe Biden. Or someone else also affiliated with the…[Read more]

You write that “older people are more likely to answer the phone and are also more likely to have voted for Biden.”
It’s been known for years that older people tend more Republican than the electorate as a whole. I think the GOP advantage among seniors has been declining, but it’s still there. CNN reported on a 2020 exit poll of…[Read more]

You write, “Yet one more reason for the Empire to want to drive unemployment up.”
I’m sure it’s true that higher unemployment helps the military’s recruiting. At the same time, it’s also true that unemployment has been going down during Biden’s term in office. A chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
The BLS tracks si…[Read more]

Jim Lane replied to the topic Biden expected to send Bradley Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine. And tanks could be next. in the forum General Discussion 3 weeks ago
We have, of course, been hearing this since February, from the likes of Scott “Over in Ten Days” MacGregor.
Now we get this from you:
Meanwhile the Russians are preparing to deploy 15 divisions to Ukraine, including at least 3000 top of the line T-90 tanks. By the time they train Ukrainians to operate maybe 100 Abrams tan…

Pete was quoted in the article:
Buttigieg said in a statement that he was “fully focused” on his Cabinet post and was “not seeking any other job.”
So hopefully he is telling the truth and someone just pulled his name out of nowhere.

You write, “Sooner or later, the arrogant criminals who run our federal government will trigger events that will force them to drop the reins of power.”
Do you have a guess as to the time frame? Are we talking a couple of years, a couple of decades, a couple of lifetimes?

Her complaint was he wasn’t helping enough when the kids were little and his political career was taking off, so she probably wasn’t attracted to power. I guess by now all the $$ smoothed things over.

jbnw replied to the topic Twitter was the one lying about Covid and smearing truth tellers in the forum General Discussion 3 weeks ago
It wasn’t just the US. I had to travel overseas and every European country had similar restrictions – some very complicated and confusing, and the US made it very hard and expensive to get required tests in the short timeline – results that had to be within 24 hours of travel at one point to enter the US.
I still wonder about the effectiveness…[Read more]

Actually, I am about as libertarian as you are, @ohiobarbarian, but way less left – still left of center but right of you, about the middle. Not sure how to contextualize that placement, but whatever, thanks for the survey.

You write:
Approval of one action of an individual, regardless of the motivations of that individual, does not mean and endorsement of ANY action by that individual, much less ALL of them.
Believe it or not, there are some people who don’t understand this. If you tell them you approve of one thing that Biden has done, for…[Read more]

I would do both formats, so why not that? I have to read up more on administering Telegram, assuming I can use it better than I do now on my MacBook Pro. You’d think I’d be able to do that, but I do a lot of things outside of social media.
Also, should we put the Twitter question to a poll, OB?
