Come on folks!
They get COBRA coverage. It will only cost them $2k a month for for a family as long as they need it. Shouldn’t be a problem. 🙄
So lets see, for a family.
2k a month for health care. (It was close to 20k a year with dental) at an old employer and this was over 5 years ago.
1k a month for rent and that’s probably really…[Read more]

The whole state of Oregon is cheating?? I don’t think so! Well OK, just those that don’t vote rethug is what he’s really saying.
On the radio today it was mentioned that the state has found two cases of fraud out of millions of votes cast.
Punxsutawney replied to the topic Will Trump Cancel the Election? Will the Democrats Dump Joe? (Worthy Read) in the forum General Discussion 1 day ago
That can only come out of Congress. However, that doesn’t mean he might not try. And certainly the Republican states can try to refuse to hold elections, or refuse to certify their electors, which would throw it into the house, where each state would get one vote. I have no doubt that the Rethugs will try something, they have proven themselves to…[Read more]
Punxsutawney replied to the topic A record 6.6 million Americans filed for unemployment last week – MSNBC in the forum General Discussion 2 days ago
As the economic multiplier works in reverse. So 30% unemployment doesn’t seem unreasonable if this continues for several months. Everywhere I look there is less demand, other than TP and isopropyl alcohol, lol.
Even things you might not think about at first like public transit must be getting hit hard. The trains here in Portland were mostly…[Read more]
It’s going to require Federal spending which is scary given that the person in charge couldn’t give a damn. Yes congress appropriates the money and has done so to some extent, but the administration is outright hostile to blue states.

Similar to damage from inhaling caustic fumes. To what extent added lung capacity can be developed afterwards I don’t know. But if you are older, it’s probably minimal.
So saying someone survived can be relative. So if you have some RW relative poo-pooing the disease, point this out. A person may be a survivor but have permanent lung damage,…[Read more]

Why didn’t she constantly interrupt Grouper Joe about sexual harassment allegations?
Thought it was a little out of the blue. Not even an attempt to raise funds first.
I bet there were some visitors from that…uh…other site that are sorely disappointed!

It may not be their first choice, but it ain’t at the bottom of the list either. There is no doubt in my mind that they despise people who aren’t rich. There are exceptions within their ranks of course.

That we need to shovel more tax payer money at corporate hospitals so they will do the right thing. Yeah, that will happen. I don’t think he is that dumb so it must mean he is lying.

With regard to this virus. Just bizarre, maybe it’s that the stress of giving birth lowers the immune response of the women here and that allows the virus to quickly take over.
Just horrible regardless.
Getting ready to teach math at the college level. It’s been very stressful and a lot of work. But there are moments of appreciation. Early in the month a British citizen (25 year old) was reporting from China about his experience (damn near killed him) and early in his illness he reported that his very active cat was acting sick and listless. It died a couple of days later. So I’d careful with pets if you are infected, or not!

This is on the Rethugs as far as I’m concerned.
And having worked for a couple of sociopathic bosses, my rule is never, ever give them an ounce of power over anyone, or anything! But the American people have been trained to view them positively, to mimic them, if not out of sheer necessity at times to survive.
Lovely society you have here, if you can keep it.
