Shocking poll results /s
Apparently, inaction has consequences.
What does shock me is why anyone would make a long-term financial decision based on any politician’s campaign promises.
How will Biden fund debt cancellation while we’re pay…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic Thought experiment -you have gun license, a legal handgun – do you go kill somebody impulsively? in the forum General Discussion 6 days ago
Not sure how to answer. I own guns and hunt and shoot a lot. I have two amazing labs and hunt ducks, pheasants, and grouse every Fall. Yes, I think it’s fun but also enables me to put over 100lbs of protein in the freezer each year. I also shoot a lot of sporting clays and coach the local high school trap and skeet team. I shoot 3,000+ rounds a…[Read more]

It reads in tone and tenor like a Brietbart or Alex Jones commentor. Without a citation or background it’s hard to take credibly.
I think the gay community has the same problems most other communities seem to have these days, a vacuum of leadership. Messages are driven by media and sound-bites and not by real leaders.
It’s interesting, two of my…[Read more]

BHO, “This isn’t a real solution. It’s a political stunt. This is what Washington does whenever there’s a big problem. Politicians pretend they’re looking out for you but they’re just looking out for their poll numbers.”

QuietYooper replied to the topic What Would Happen if We Stopped Using Plastic? in the forum General Discussion 2 weeks ago
A buddy just bought a new EV very fancy. Despite its emissions benefits almost every component is loaded with plastics. Same with appliances, building materials, and tons of other stuff. I hope I’m wrong, but market forces to get beyond plastics may be a decade or more behind emission technology.

This goes into effect next week Tuesday June 21. It blocks all sorts of imports from Xinjiang from cotton to solar panels to pharma ingredients. Are Biden’s handlers really ready to worsen the economy right now? Let’s introduce more supply-chain chaos, regulatory red-tape, and increased costs to the economy ahead of mid-terms! What could go…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic When is it too much? in the forum General Discussion 1 month ago
In my opinion people will not panic or really revolt until the Big Mac machine stops working. Meaning fast food in general. Poor and other disadvantaged people disproportionately rely upon fast food every day. Worsening food inflation, supply chain issues, fertilizer shortages, etc. will continue to impact supply well into 2023 regardless of…[Read more]

Sorry so gloomy. I agree with most everyone’s points on this thread and zillions of others. I think we’re all screwed. QuietYooper replied to the topic Retirement savings reform is a good idea that both parties can get behind in the forum General Discussion 2 months ago
Like @dunatus says above, they were concerned about excess savings last year and now we have a war and rising inflation so they can get those idle savings. But we’re up near Scandia in the NE metro. We will do about 50 foot rows which should yield about 50 canned quarts which is plenty for us and the people we share with. The composted manure is ready to go we just need some spring weather so the tiller can get through the soil.
