QuietYooper replied to the topic How the American Diet Turbocharges COVID-19 in the forum General Discussion 3 months ago
It is cheap and easy for people with more than one job trying to make ends meet and raise kids. I have several friends whose family dinners are fast food 3-4 times a week. I’m not sure people will panic if they can’t get organic foods, but we’ll see revolution if the Big Mac machines ever stop.

on their approval ratings they would be motivated to do better? (15% in Dec 2020) . Or their pay or healthcare? In the private sector there are plenty of awards for merit. Mine is based on NPS aka Net Promoter Score aka “would you recommend”.

QuietYooper replied to the topic Can employers fire Capitol rioters? in the forum General Discussion 3 months ago
I was recently pushed out of a job (not fired) despite documented ageism. Yes, I could have sued but it would have cost me $20K just to get started with filings, discovery, depositions – before day 1 in court. There was not a large enough windfall for the attorneys to take it as contingency, and despite the documentation – overt and explicit are…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic Trump's bizarre defense of Russian hacks becomes dangerous – comment in the forum General Discussion 4 months ago
The attack is real and it is unprecedented. China or Russia did this. Or North Korea or Iran. UK and Israel have the capability but not sure why they’d smack us so hard. This is a big deal and there will be reactions and over-reactions. Fortunately, this attack did not impact one nation or one agency, it hit multiple countries and industries, both…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic Where The F*CK Is 4" Tall Loser Joe Biden & His Sidekick, Giggler Harris? WHY Isn't Joey Demanding a $1200 Check for Those On The Brink of a Disaster? in the forum General Discussion 4 months ago
Joe, Nancy, & Chuck are repeatedly proven horrible negotiators, both short-term and long-term. And their whip value is shrinking rapidly. Plus, BHO is selling a book called, “A Promised Land”.

QuietYooper replied to the topic Secret, Invisible Evidence Of Russian Hacking Is Not Actually Evidence in the forum General Discussion 4 months ago
I highly regard Caitlin but not sure why she was compelled to post this now. Maybe knee-jerk reaction to other knee-jerk reactions?
The attack happened and continues to happen, there is no doubt and plenty of evidence to support this. Do we have positive attribution yet? No, at least not publicly. However, there is plenty of evidence that the…[Read more]

QuietYooper started the topic $50 Flu Vaccine … in the forum General Discussion 4 months ago
We are not paupers and have above-average health-insurance from our employers (BCBS PPO). We got our annual flu vaccines from our primary care physicians a month ago. BCBS denied the coverage and we owe $50 each. I am not sure if this expense is part of our annual deductible, but I have waited on hold with the 800# for over 15-minutes twice now…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic What to say to people who demand you go to their house on Thanksgiving… in the forum General Discussion 4 months ago
We washed all our sweat pants and fleece tops and have declared PLHW aka Pant-Less Holiday Weekend until Monday. Too many local and close reports about people who tested positive but had no symptoms and continue to go out and about. WTF! I trust very few people right now about this both family and friends.
Our good friend and neighbor is our…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic New Rule: Strife of the Party | Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) in the forum General Discussion 5 months ago
He tried to mess with my 30th bday on 11/23-24 1996. My girlfriend and future wife got us a VIP box at the grand opening of the House of Blues in Chicago. James Brown rocked the house!
Maher repeatedly and aggressively groped my girlfriend on the floor. She shrugged it off without my knowledge but when I figured out what was going on I kinda lost…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic Why is the world going to hell? Netflix’s The Social Dilemma tells only half the story (Jonathan Cook Blog) in the forum General Discussion 6 months ago
I believe social media is at least as large a threat as climate change.
If you are dead social media cannot monetize you, so they definitely want you alive and clicking.
I do not understand why Russiagaters would like this documentary? If anything it drastically minimizes their entire narrative.
The documentary tries to appeal to regulating…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic The Mask Debate… I need to rant in the forum General Discussion 6 months ago
I missed a big family wedding last weekend. First cousins who I adore. No big or public Trumpers on that side of my family, but I did get some crap. Oh well. Most will quickly forget. Send the bride & groom a thoughtful gift and do not worry about it.
If a people are mad at me that is their problem, not mine and there is nothing I can do about it.

I shop at the local co-op but occasionally go into the fancy independent grocery store in town for a couple things. But really!!
Cauliflower Steaks
Watermelon Tenderloins
Pineapple HeartsAre you friggin kidding me?!? All in plastic clam-shells.
Boiled and shelled hard-boiled eggs! If you cannot boil water, you may want to rethink some shit.

When I get stressed my world becomes much smaller. I have been adding (more) bird feeders around my yard and neighborhood all summer. The quantity of birds visiting every hour especially now is off the charts. It is very rewarding to me. I saw my first flock of Blue Jays ever on Sunday. Yes, they are common and around all year here in Minnesota,…[Read more]

QuietYooper replied to the topic Untold History of the United States – Oliver Stone in the forum General Discussion 7 months ago
Whether you like Oliver Stone or not, this series is worth the investment. But, it’s quite shocking and does not offer much to feel good about. I started with the modern episodes then went back to watch the earlier ones. This series had a profound impact on my understanding of our country and government.

I am not a doctor or forensic investigator and my lifetime experience with dwarfs is 99% tv/movies. I think I added that PS because I really do not want it to be a kid, but not sure how that helps.

As long as it does not spread nobody will care. Maybe more celebrity PSA’s?
Sorry if that’s crass but I’ve blown through sad and sarcastic to just pissed.
P.S. that short person does not run like a dwarf 🙁

QuietYooper replied to the topic People Concerned About COVID-19 Are Using Pulse Oximeters to Measure Oxygen Levels. These Are the Pros and Cons. in the forum CORONA Virus / COVID-19 12 months ago
It’s a cheap $50 Walgreens version. It works fine but I get different readings depending on the finger I use. But, like the article says – it’s the trend you should pay attention to not a single reading. I have two docs in my family and they both think it is good peace-of-mind for C19. You may feel like hell with symptoms and want to die, but it…[Read more]
