@retiredliberal writes,
“The Republicans are a worse threat for this country.”
No.
The Democrats are…The Party for Censorship.
The Democrats, in their current form, are the more evil of the two major United States political parties.

You have expressed my previous posts thoughts here. As someone who thought they could reach out to the other two administrators, I realized it was pared down to one after the (what shall we call it?) the crash… and I still have zero response. If I’m to learn by what @retiredliberal theorized, somebody stepped in to fix this crash, but that…[Read more]

I just gave @retiredliberal that info in a PM.
I’m gonna reach out to the JPR members, mostly mods via email, and also @utopianleftist, who has a Facebook page.
I’d love to have some communication as to how this site got back up. I welcome all guesses on that one!

No doubt the people who participated considered it something noble and right. I mean, our government is absolutely corrupt and beyond dysfunctional… So is it really any surprise that there was a coup attempt?
Had they been acting for different reasons, perhaps, say in support of Bernie Sanders… Would we see it the same? I…[Read more]

If I remember correctly, the U.S. didn’t sign the Geneva accords anyway. So we can’t really claim the protections of it.
I wonder if being a “private military contractor” will suddenly be less appealing.

David the Gnome replied to the topic How do you determine sentience? in the forum General Discussion 7 months ago
Perhaps we should use that as the new official definition of sentience.
Assuming our civilization and technology last long enough for that to happen… I think at that point questions of sentience will be moot. Kind of like, if it isn’t, it may as well be, can’t tell the difference anymore.
Real sentient life? Or m…[Read more]

It still kinda shocks me when I see the headlines about people who borrowed 100-400k in student loans. A number of them are arguing that the 10k forgives (assuming it happens – which I doubt it will) won’t do much at all for them.
I borrowed… Idk, 10-12 for my one year in college. The interest had brought it up to 16 or so, b…[Read more]

Yes, I know. I am not really for arming teachers. But the inaction of the police in this case is pretty shocking.

Jim Lane replied to the topic Eric Greitens in the forum General Discussion 8 months ago
From his Wikipedia bio:
A Democrat during his early life, Greitens announced in 2015 that he had become a Republican. He ran for governor of Missouri as a Republican in 2016. Greitens prevailed over three opponents in the Republican primary and then defeated Democratic Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster in the general election.

Ohio Barbarian replied to the topic ‘Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds’ in the forum General Discussion 9 months ago
When push comes to shove, when the choice is between giving the working class more real power or going in the Fascist direction, liberals always choose Fascism for one simple reason: Both want capitalism to continue in some form. Even though the liberals who ended up supporting Mussolini and Hitler were subsequently persecuted themselves.

The old phrase “low-information voters” comes to mind, but I feel @retiredliberal did a much better job of summing up why people reacted to his speech like that.

I’m almost certain that I’ve read about actions being against persons accused of harassing their members of U.S. Congress.
Someone had a good slogan here this week about when congress enacts laws that are criminal against the public, it’s called something else, but when the public acts out in civil disobedience, we get arrested.

Why is it incumbent upon those PhD’s to offer alternatives in an article written to point out Fauci’s mistakes? Just because Glenn Greenwald goes on Tucker Carlson we’re supposed to ignore him? @retiredliberal I’m guessing it’s because these are the first mRNA vaccines in use. I feel they weren’t properly tested. Why else would the Pfizer owned FDA be trying to get the safety data blocked from public scrutiny for 55 years? Another symptom I’m experiencing is orchitis. I wonder how many drivers in the US can drive a car with a manual transmission. It’s probably been 15 years since I had a car with a manual transmission, but starting on a farm tractor at 5 or so, and the last manual being a Miata in San Francisco, I think the muscle memory would come back quickly 🙂
