@robertfromnc Never before in the history of the DLC/Third Way Democratic establishment had they all united in so disciplined a manner against anything. But they managed it to stop Bernie.
Kinda says something about their priorities, does it not?

Yep – DemExit 2004.
@robertfromnc Of that there is no doubt.

I actually agree with you. However, this is just me keeping to my own code and logic. Where, I’d like to give the Democratic Party the benefit of the doubt just because of how damaging the Republican Party is. Not saying they are that much better, just looking over balance.
I can and will vote 3rd party if the Democratic Pa…[Read more]

That’s a great assessment of the situation.
Unfortunately foreign policy isn’t a topic most Americans care to understand. It’s also difficult to discuss in a limited debate format because it’s an issue most people have a corporate media shaped point of view on which is extremely pro military engagement and right wing.

The UBI is great for those who don’t need the money. But anyone getting any government assistance has to choose between the UBI and the assistance. In addition, this is paid for by a VAT, which is a regressive tax, and also the taxes on each stage of a product will most certainly be passed on to consumers. It is sort of a cr…[Read more]

@robertfromnc , I agree with your assessment.
And although I like Tulsi, I think it would be a huge leap of faith to put her in the Oval Office at this point.

It is early, and again, I am really hoping I am wrong about it. What prompted me to do this, is the fact that I see too many “Bernie is Unelectable” messages.
Thing is, I know there are negatives for Bernie, and as time is going, it gets harder and harder for him to win due to many factors. However, I maintain that the others a…[Read more]
Gabbard has issues based on her past stances in regards to a variety of progressive issues. I believe one of them is gun control. There is also some kind of weird cult her family was connected to at one point, or so I have heard.

We are in agreement there. Unfortunately – I won’t be able to get married for a couple years (if I did as we had initially planned, for September, I’d lose my social security benefits – and right now we need that).
What’s sad to me is that when, prior to and during the Reagan era, it was decided to dismantle our institutions….…[Read more]

No, you didn’t, I jumped the gun there. In any event… the idea of a global system of government is… interesting. It might ultimately be what is needed in order to resolve climate change and other issues – but we probably shouldn’t hold our breath waiting for it. I think that Russia is secondary – after our domestic issues. If…[Read more]
