“Free speech, b.t.w., entitles you to say what you want, but not necessarily to keep or get the job you want. It’s totally irrelevant to this impeachment trial.”

@snot yw
I know that his military attorney made an excellent record at courts-martial, about the speedy trial violation, and the punitive treatment he received in the brig, before his trial. Yet, i never found or saw anything in the press or elsewhere on the treatment or disposition of this claim on appeal by his civilian appellate attorneys.…[Read more]

@snot It’s quite possible he should have been impeached – but I want facts we will likely never know now, and yes – we now have a precedent of a ridiculously fast impeachment without an investigation.
I wonder what it would have turned up in people and organizations that put together the assault on the Capitol.

Trump refused to call out the National Guard when his mob turned violent.

that’s what i read, @snot — with a timeline. and the pictures on the screens look like pictures of the folks waiting for trumps speech, not the folks at the capitol steps. though i’ve read too it was trump told the folks at his speech to march to the capitol at the end of his talk. haven’t confirmed that for myself though.

There was a rather complicated option to get the money transferred to your bank account, which I ended up using. I think they also said it can be used at certain ATMs.

I would say none of the above. They are just throwing a tantrum because Trump lost and using what leverage they have.

@snot. Yes, I’m thinking this is an ominous turn too. Putting in place generals who will obey orders and shoot American protesters when they try and void Biden’s election, however they try and do it, and keep him in power as long as possible.

for political info. It’s fine for hard science and the other liberal arts, just not politics. Way too biased. Just look at Max Blumenthal’s Wikipedia page as an example of how one super-editor can get in there and prevent any positive info from being disseminated. It’s nothing but negative info, as one would expect from a hit-piece. What makes it…[Read more]

Concerning Biden’s positions, you ask “Is there an objective summary somewhere, or can you mention particular actions or issues, preferably with references specific enough that I might be able to find them despite the internet’s reluctance?”
Apparently you’ve encountered only articles that praise Biden. The responses in this thread se…[Read more]

@snot Place a bet on it in Vegas. It’s a sure thing. IF Biden loses, which isn’t very unlikely right now. So Biden will say he has a mandate for austerity and war, and then not understand what is happening when the cities burn and he loses control of the military.

and to shit all over Bernie and progressives if the Vichy Dems win. I also think that Bernie will not be chairman of any damn committee. Once you vote for the Vichy Dems, they do not care what you think or need. That is how they have always rolled, and will continue rolling. In fact, I believe the Vichy Dems would say they have a mandate for…[Read more]
