TheHermit replied to the topic Nevada Democrats are planning to use a new Caucus Day “tool” preloaded onto iPads in the forum President 11 months ago
Oracle is a leading supplier of business accounting and supply chain software. This would be a very small task for them, well within their capabilities….IF they have time to test and train, and IF their management is not in the tank with the DNC to corrupt the process. Both very big IFs.
The company was founded by Larry Ellison, a…[Read more]

TheHermit replied to the topic So just how bad was that app? in the forum General Discussion 11 months ago
All of this tells me that these problems were “a feature, not a bug,” as Caitlin Johnstone phrased it. This app was intentionally created and rolled out in a way that would appear to be incompetent, but in reality was a planned outcome. Under-staffing of the call line was not an oversight. Delay, deflection, misreporting, disinformation was th…[Read more]

TheHermit replied to the topic Funny isn't it? The precise correlation between errors in taking Bernie delegates in the forum General Discussion 11 months ago
Yes, if the x axis is correctly labelled, then this says the opposite.
I think the x axis should be labelled “adjustments needed to correct errors.”
A link would be nice.

TheHermit replied to the topic Iowa Dems Get CAUGHT Undercutting Bernie in Black Hawk County in the forum General Discussion 11 months ago
Looks to me like a very sophisticated operation. They are working to shave votes/delegates from Bernie by enough to keep him from running away with it, but trying to keep it “credible.”
I am sure the goal is to keep Bernie below 50% in the delegate count at the convention to allow the superdelegates to come into play. And if you add up the p…[Read more]

TheHermit replied to the topic Looks like Buttegieg may Miraculously* win all categories UPDATE in the forum General Discussion 11 months ago
Instead of inflating Mayo Pete’s vote, they must be switching votes from Bernie to centrists to keep Bernie below Pete’s total.
I am sure the plan is all carefully worked out, and the conflicting data will be disappeared. Some precinct captains or Bernie’s people may have copies or photos, but it will be claimed that they were not final or forged.

TheHermit replied to the topic Grand Opening of Nation’s Largest Fast-fill Hydrogen Bus Fueling Station in California in the forum Science and Environment 11 months ago
Except hydrogen from SMR is better than diesel or petrol. That is a simple fact.
Unfortunately, that is a “fact” only if that hydrogen is produced using “green” power. If the hydrogen is produced using power from a coal-fired power plant, then no, hydrogen is not better than diesel or petrol. The power plant produces roughly the same g…[Read more] -
TheHermit replied to the topic Oh Pete, Pete. What have you won? in the forum Bar and Grill 11 months ago
For the paranoids among us, or is it the realists, it is looking like the DNC “APP” had some kind of vote shifting function to Mayo Pete. He was all ready to declare victory and I think I saw some indication that the DNC results have (or at least had) him leading.
It is looking like Bernie’s precaution of having hard data from 40% of the…[Read more]

TheHermit replied to the topic They are getting desperate. John Kerry overheard discussing possible 2020 bid. in the forum General Discussion 12 months ago
I know I shouldn’t count chickens and all that, but I am thinking something between crushing, and landslide.
You have to ask…what would it take to start Kerry thinking, the day before the Iowa caucuses, to begin a campaign that he has obviously not prepared for at all? Setting aside the unbelievable hubris to think he could make a…[Read more]

I take it that Kerry now has a strong sense of how it is going to turn out in Iowa.

TheHermit replied to the topic Grand Opening of Nation’s Largest Fast-fill Hydrogen Bus Fueling Station in California in the forum Science and Environment 12 months ago
“Why aren’t more people talking about this”
Maybe because they understand that this just shifts the pollution from a Santa Ana, CA, freeway to the 4 corners coal fired power plants, and doesn’t do anything to reduce total global greenhouse gas emissions.
I don’t see any suggestion in this article that the hydrogen that Air Products produces is b…[Read more]

TheHermit started the topic 'Pathological liar': Bloomberg hits back at Trump 'Mini Mike' insult in the forum President 12 months ago
Interesting that Bloomberg is adopting Sanders’ description of “pathological liar” for Trump. I think Bernie was the first and main candidate to use that.

Thank you for the reply, TAT.
I didn’t mean to offend on the “resident angry hydrogen basher.” I was just quoting the original poster, but I could/should have avoided that.
But if you reread my reply, I don’t think I made an ” argument that solar and wind will generate enough electricity to run current Global Industrial Soci…[Read more]

Allow me to step in here and make one point in defense of the “resident angry hydrogen basher.” I also get frustrated by his repeated rejection and dismissal of all alternative energy (or so it sometimes seems).
But like him, I also am frustrated by articles like this, which imply that all we have to do is start “mining” hydrogen,…[Read more]

TheHermit replied to the topic I may be stuck in Washington for Trump's impeachment trial, but this is what "Not Me, Us" is all about in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
If you look at the heart of the most conservative district in the US, in northwest TX, you will see an event for tomorrow night. I went to an event here last night and got my feet wet doing some calls, and I will be at that one tomorrow also.

I’m with you 100% on all that. 2016 was the devil or the deep blue sea….frying pan or the fire.
Impeaching Trump is simultaneously a moral, ethical, political imperative, and a total diversion and waste of time.
But who is to blame for the absurdity of our situation? The laziness, self-centeredness, and short-sightedness of u…[Read more]

Warren (doesn’t) respond to question about Bernie not being liked. She talks a long time, but has nothing of substance to say. Watch the presenters’ attempts to cut into the stream of BS, finally just talking over her.
My interpretation is that Warren is so beholden to the Clinton machine that she cannot say anything positive about Bernie on…[Read more]
