What a disaster it was for humanity when American policy planners decided against mass transit.

If they’re actually asking that question, we already know in truth, what their unspoken business model is.

Yanath replied to the topic Why is US capitalism so decayed? in the forum General Discussion 3 days ago
It’s capitalism, period.
An organizational system for the economics of a technologically advanced civilization, that is predicated on greed, is illogical and unjust on its face. Any adult should be able to sense this intuitively.

Yanath replied to the topic Wishful Thinking? Xi's Historic Call to Merkel: Free Yourself from Washington, Help Us Build a New World in the forum Multimedia 5 days ago
What you’re saying there, is that the US is using “fire” — coercion and militarism — to fight Chinese “fire”, which is just a further perpetuation of the myth of equivalence between Chinese conduct in the world, and the brutalities committed by the US empire.

Yanath replied to the topic Wishful Thinking? Xi's Historic Call to Merkel: Free Yourself from Washington, Help Us Build a New World in the forum Multimedia 5 days ago
Nothing about their conduct in the world supports that conclusion. Their defense spending has actually decreased in recent years as a percentage of the Chinese GDP, their foreign policies clearly do not include a propensity for forcing or coercing their ideology onto the world. Americans tend to project their own government’s inclinations onto others.

Yanath replied to the topic China-Iran $400 Billion Accord: A Power Shift Threatens Western Energy in the forum General Discussion 1 week ago
The authors push the normalization of economic coercion and threats of violence, and the forcing of arbitrary agreements on other states. Such actions are clearly violations of the UN charter and numerous other multilateral agreements, and thus violations of international law.
“Containment of China” says it all, to those with an objective view of things.

Is innuendo posted on Twitter supposed to mean something to me?
I rarely listen to Medhurst. I prefer more intellectually inclined fare, so I’m not triggered in the least by your hard-hitting criticisms of him.

Yanath replied to the topic Richard Medhurst: AOC Is Officially an Establishment Democrat (short but deadly) in the forum Multimedia 1 week ago
According to you, Richard Medhurst:
– has more than one name
– lives in the UK
– “has a lot going on” with Boris Yeltsin
– has only an American audience
– ominously began criticizing AOC after Jimmy Dore
– made a video with TDS (?) and presumably
– didn’t say anything about Trump’s travel banWhat exactly does all of that mean to you?

Yanath replied to the topic Alexander Mercouris: Paris-Berlin Oppose Ukrainian Offensive; Call on Kiev to De-escalate in the forum Multimedia 1 week ago
Most people want peace, and to work toward common interests that benefit us all. US political leaders want war, austerity and misery for the vast majority of the human population, but fabulous wealth and power for themselves.

Unfortunately, the default position in the minds of most Americans, is that we’re the ‘adults’ and we have a moral imperative to do as please. People think you’re weird for suggesting that the same moral amd legal standards should apply to everyone, including the US. More often than not, a blank stare is the response.

“Both sides” this and “both sides” that implies an equivalency between the two countries in terms of responsibility for the problems in the world, that simply doesn’t exist. It is the US that is the seat of power for the global capitalist empire that does so much harm to our societies. It is the US that needs to concede, not China. It’s the US…[Read more]

Yanath replied to the topic Scientists Issue Urgent New COVID Warning To Greedy Countries in the forum Multimedia 2 weeks ago
Unadulterated nonsense, plain as day. Sharing vaccines with impoverished countries in the interest of the safety and welfare of human society, would not in any way prevent scientists from doing research and development of medicine. That may be the silliest thing I’ve ever read.

Yanath replied to the topic Caitlin Johnstone: The Fact That Americans Think Biden Has Changed Things Shows How Narrative Rules Our World in the forum General Discussion 2 weeks ago
No doubt, style matters. This president is the most uncivil, crassest, crudest, ugliest (in several meanings of the word) U.S. leader in memory. Maybe ever.
But style is only style. Style is not substance. Conflating Trump’s weird crazy demeanor with his generically Republican politics exacerbates a problem afflicting our national discourse, our…[Read more]
